I wrote about the negative health effects of Omega-6 PUFAs a couple of months ago. This seems to be information that’s gaining more and more traction amongst paleos and ketos. Most Westerners get their PUFAs from seed oils (rapeseed, sunflower, corn, etc.). Interestingly, there’s a new study out that argues
“COVID-19 mortality rates are heavily influenced by the amount of unsaturated fats you eat. Simply put, unsaturated fat intake is associated with increased mortality from COVID-19, while saturated fat intake lowers your risk of death.”
This makes sense given that PUFAs are inflammatory. As I wrote in a previous post, some scientists believe that PUFAs, especially those from seed oils, are the root cause of most “Western” diseases.
